RACE CAR LIVE! EXPANDS WITH 4X4 AND RALLY ACTION
The grand finale of the UK’s motorsport season, Race Car Live returns to Brands Hatch on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st November and is expanding to include high octane Rally and 4X4 live action. Now in its sixth year, the expansion was a natural extension for the established motorsport event.
Brands Hatch is famous worldwide for its circuit and superb facilities but many are unaware of the 4X4 and Rally stages. For the first time, the Race Car Live organisers have decided to open these up for would be competitors but also for 4X4 owners who have dreamt of putting their vehicle through its paces in a safe but challenging environment, then 4X4 Live at Brands Hatch is the place.
Organiser Philip Bunn explains: “The very nature of Brands Hatch means that a lot of what will be going on live will be about competitive sport and there will be an awesome array of 4X4 vehicles used in event such as the Paris Dakar, and the awesome RX buggies complete with Honda 950cc fireblade engines as well as some of the most successful and powerful Rally cars of today and yesterday. All these will be live on the Rally stage at Brands Hatch with professional drivers at the wheel, with some giving visitors the opportunity to ride with them in the passenger seat.”
Booking your own vehicle in to try out the facilities is easy. Buy your show ticket in advance through the Race Car Live website (www.racecarlive.com) and then just turn up and book your vehicle in on arrival. There will even be a team at the end of the circuit to wash your vehicle at the end of its run! There will be pro-drivers ready to sit with you as you negotiate the circuit, ready to give advice and pass on driving tips.
A trade stand area will also part of 4X4 Live and Rally Live where you can buy all sorts of spares and equipment for your 4X4 road or competition car.
Your admission ticket will also give you access to Race Car Live where you can walk down the pit lane, chat to race car manufacturers, race series organisers, motorsport clubs and retailers of specialist tuning equipment. There will also be the chance to hitch a ride with some of the UK’s finest racing drivers who will be putting the latest vehicles through their paces on the famous Indy Circuit. A general motorsport exhibition is all part of what you can expect to see along with a great display of classic racing cars and a ‘racecars for sale’ section.
Also new for 2010 is Kart Live where you can watch many of the two and four stroke engined categories that make up the competitive British Karting scene. Highlights will include demonstrations from the British Superkart Association with over 30 ‘pocket rocket’ karts out on the Indy circuit, some reaching a top speed of 150mph!
Philip added: “The whole event is about getting visitors involved in the live action, regardless of which motorsport discipline you are a fan of, and Race Car Live is the only event that lets you get this up close and personal. If you have just one competitive bone in your body, you are going to have the time of your life at Brands Hatch this November.”
Race Car Live is open from 9am until 5pm each day. Tickets are available costing £12 for adults in advance and £15 on the day. Children’s tickets are just £8 in advance or £12 on the day. For the latest updates or to book tickets, visit www.racecarlive.com

MORE MANUFACTURERS AND RACE ORGANISERS THAN EVER BEFORE LINE UP FOR RACE CAR LIVE!
More manufacturers and race series organisers than ever before are lined up to appear at this year’s Race Car Live, held at Brands Hatch on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd November.
The Trofeo Abarth 500 GB, the only new British Championship for 2010, will have a strong presence at the show. Following a highly successful championship launch in October, the race series organisers will be on hand to discuss their plans and expectations for the championship as well as meet prospective drivers, partners, teams and stakeholders.
The Trofeo is the result of a partnership of highly experienced and qualified personnel with input from competitors, sponsors and fans. The aim is to create a platform where all the stakeholders can grow together with particular attention paid to the package offered to the competitors and the marketing and technical side of the championship.
Lining up alongside them will be Faze 1 Motorsport headed up by Ben Demetriou, a former Porsche champion in various classes. Faze has a full garage of cars including a 911 Cup car, a 911 GT3, a 911SC a 968CS and a 944 S2. The company offers driver tuition in all of these cars or, if required, in the customers’ car.
As Ben points out: "Investing in driver training with a successful race driver is worth more than trying to find extra horsepower from your engine and will pay huge dividends on the track.”
Faze 1 will also be heading up a team in the 2010 Porsche Club championship and are looking for interested drivers seeking 'arrive and drive' packages in ex-championship cars. Its services extend to race and road car sales, parts and servicing as well as restoration and body repairs. Faze 1 will be situated in Garage 10 and will also be offering 'taster' laps of the Brands Hatch circuit.
KTM will be showcasing their latest PowerParts and PowerWear for the X-Bow in conjunction with ABG Motorsport, one of KTM's UK service partners, while Radical Motorsport will make a major announcement regarding the development of its series. Team Rogue Racing, the people behind the 750 Motor Clubs' highly successful MR2 Championship will launch the MR2 Super GT racing series based around modified versions of the Toyota MR2.
For the first time at Brands Hatch, entry level karting will be demonstrated on the track, giving visitors the opportunity to see and understand the various affordable entry level classes for both adults and children.
Demonstrations and representation will include Honda Cadets, TKM senior and junior 2 and 4-stroke as well as Rotax Max seniors and juniors. Demonstrations will alternate with arrive-and-drive sessions organised by Buckmore Park who manage the kart circuit at Brands Hatch.
In addition to the single speed karts that make up the majority of the competitive kart classes in the UK, there will be a fantastic display of over 30 gearbox karts out on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit at 1pm on both days.
The Brands Hatch circuit is even more accessible now as well as anyone with a full DVLA driving license and have driven on a track before will have the opportunity to ride/drive a variety of racing cars on the Indie Circuit. Need to apply or renew your MSA license? Then take your ARDS test and have your medical examination at the show.
Those without a license can still enjoy the speed of motorsport with a ‘hot ride’ as a passenger in a racing car with a skilled driver. There's no need to book: just sign on as a passenger and enjoy the real thrill of Brands Hatch at race speed!
A 'one-stop shop', trade stands will sell you need for the new season while the Education Zone has all the info you need on gaining qualifications, apprenticeships and scholarships available for a career in motorsport with several major colleges attending.
And if you are looking for the new car then our 'Race Cars for Sale' area will have the latest bargains. Anyone with a race car to sell can park it up at the entrance of the circuit free of charge without reserving space.

PRESS RELEASE
The London Motorsport Show incorporating race Car Live! soon made itself at home in its new venue, Brands Hatch, despite an early flurry of snow on the second day! Around 4,000 visitors, all involved in motorsport, attended the show with most getting to experience the Indy circuit.
Organiser Philip bunn said: "The quality of our audience was superb, all with a genuine involvement with motorsport or an interest in getting involved. Despite the inclement weather, exhibitors all reported a good weekend with over a third booking for 2009 at the show and the rest expressing an interest in booking over the coming months. For 2009, we will be looking to increase the exhibition area and include more engineering companies as well as expanding into other areas of motorsport."
Vistors wandered freely around the pit lane and garages, talking to race organisers and car manufacturers such as Radical, KTM, Ginetta, Revelation and Tiger Racing about the 2009 season and the latest models. Some even had the opportunity to experience the track and the new cars for themselves with test drives on the circuit. Those without an MSA didn't miss out though, as they were given passenger rides.
As it approaches its 50th anniversary, the Mini proved as popular as ever. MINI Challenge signed up eight new drivers over the weekend. "The show was a great success for MINI Challenge. We had so much interest, we will be running another try out day to satisfy the demand", said Paul Harvey, MINI Challenge manager.
"The MINI Challenge garage was full to bursting for both days with current drivers and prospective competitors. MINI Challenge race numbers are issued on a first-come-first-served basis each season and at one point there was a rush for cheque books to secure lucky-number race numbers" Paul added.
The Mini7 club spent the weekend helping people understand the costs, how to start racing and providing them with a sample of the cars was hugely positive. The club is confident that a good percentage of this interest will turn into intent and that in turn it will lead to new members and cars on the grid in 2009.
Racing Perfection had a very successful weekend opening people's eyes to the wide range of options that everyone has in motorsport and right at their fingertips. Steve Bell, founder of Racing Perfection, said: "We have seen an increase in viewers to our site by 25 per cent since the show and had very positive feedback throughout the weekend and to date."
One of the announcements at the show was the agreement that SEAT Sport, based at Martorell near Barcelona, will provide a full parts and service back up for the proposed Leon Supercopa Challenge to be run in the UK in 2009. A representative has been appointed by SEAT Sport to deal with these issues and will be present at all events in the new series.
This full parts and technical support will be available not only to the latest Leon Supercopa cars and competitors, but also to those competing in the earlier MK1 Leon type R cars.
"Levels of pledged support have been running strongly", said current series co-ordinator Andrew Crighton. "We can now move forward to concrete various deals that are on the table. The Seat Leon is a very exciting car and there have been several enquiries from potential competitors" he continued.
"We are awaiting their decision in the next couple of weeks and will issue a further release as soon as we have that detail. In the meantime, we will now work with Motorsport Vision Racing to ensure that the dates we have been offered work."
"More importantly, to ensure that we do not have a clash with the WTCC when it visits the UK, as was made clear in recent meetings in Spain, in the event that UK cars meet the Supercopa specification, drivers from the UK Challenge may apply for a one-off entry to compete in the Eurocup round to be held at Brands Hatch in July 2009."
The next London Motorsport Show incorporating Race Car Live! will take place on 21st and 22nd November 2009. Companies interested in exhibiting should contact Philip Bunn on 01444 246446 or email info@londonmotorsport.co.uk.

The main DPR Motorsport display will be based on the Brightwater Technologies sponsored R300 owned by Jon Walker.
This car was the first customer-supplied R300 and starred in its race debut by winning all three of the Donington Eurocup invitation races including the first outright win for an R300 in the Eurocup pit-stop race.
This is also the first R300 to race in Europe where it recently raced in the Grand Prix Historique de Provence at the Paul Ricard circuit in Southern France. Driven by Jon Walker and David Rowe the 170 bhp R300 outperformed more powerful (260 bhp) Caterham CSR's to finish 5th overall and first in class
Also present will be the newly-built DPR Motorsport Caterham Roadsport A that was driven by twenty-year old novice driver Robert Springate to sixth place in his first race at the Brands Hatch Formula Ford Festival championship round. Robert Springate will be providing on-track demonstration runs throughout the day.
DPR Motorsport team principal David Rowe said "We are excited by the opportunity to be at Race Car Live! In these difficult economic times we believe that Caterham racing is the most cost-effective entry point into motor sport. No other manufacturer provides the same all-encompassing support with cars that are both a fantastic driving experience and relatively low-cost to run. Our testing of the new R300 has demonstrated that this is going to be an extremely competitive package.
For young drivers like Robert Springate who want to move up from karting, Caterham racing is a perfect next-step for progression into serious motor sport."

MAKE A PIT STOP AT LONDON MOTORSPORT SHOW INCORPORATING RACE CAR LIVE!
Whilst the UK’s domestic motorsport season may be drawing to a close the action is still alive and kicking at Brands Hatch on 22nd/23rd November as it hosts the London Motorsport Show incorporating Race Car Live!
The London Motorsport Show incorporating Race Car Live! will see a vast array of motorsport series on display from Pickup Truck Racing to MINI Challenge and from Formula Ford to Radical. There’s even something for the ladies as online magazine Girl Racer will be on track with their female drivers and in the paddock promoting their latest range of motorsport clothing.
If you’ve always fancied yourself as the next Lewis Hamilton but don’t have the huge budget, one of the most cost-effective ways of motor racing available takes the form of the Legends Championship. Based upon the pre-war Ford, Chevy and Dodge, Legends offers exciting racing across an action-packed calendar. At Brands Hatch there’ll be passenger rides available alongside seasoned Legends drivers giving you the ideal opportunity to get close up to these pocket rockets.
Two new championships for 2009 are set to be launched at London Motorsport Show and Race Car Live! by Red Dragon Racing. Currently operating the successful MR2 and Nippon Challenge, the organisation will be introducing the ‘Subaru Cup’, for production specification Impreza and ‘Formula Nippon’ for single-seaters. Both series aim to offer drivers the chance to compete on track for a minimal budget.
A number of manufacturers will be making announcements and revealing new products at the show including Radical Sportscars, which will have its whole range on display. Formula Palmer Audi will have drivers and cars from its FPA Series.
Earlier this year ADR performance racecars introduced the ADR3 in four different engine and powertrain specifications to meet market demand. On display will be the TS equipped with two seats and a Honda K20 engine and the RS equipped with a Ford 3.5-litre V6 engine offering the highest level of performance particularly suited to endurance racing.
A favourite with the British fans the MINI has also proved popular since its introduction in 1959. Even in its new guise the MINI is as popular today as it was back in the 1960’s. With MINI legend John Cooper lending his support, a one-make championship broke onto the racing scene in 2000. Since then the series, renamed MINI Challenge, has grown from strength to strength with over 30 drivers competing across four classes. The MINI Challenge is offering you the chance to take a passenger ride in one of its Club or S Class MINI’s to experience the sheer thrill of these mini racers and to find out more about MINI adventures on track in 2009.
Another brand famous for its motorsport credentials is BMW. For over 50 years the German marque has been involved in motorsport across the continent whether it be on two wheels or four. Whilst Formula One still achieves the most headline news the BMW Racing Drivers Club promotes grass roots motorsport with its amateur club racing series. With a host of BMW racecars on display in the paddock the KUMHO BMW Series provides an excellent arena to experience rear-wheel drive racing.
Ginetta cars will have its full model range present including its new car launched for the 2008 season, the 300 bhp Ginetta G50 which has been one of British motorsport’s success stories with its own single-make Championship, GT4 honours in British GT and success at Britcar including conquering 24 hours at Silverstone. Visitors will be able to take the car on the tarck along with the Ginetta Junior and G20 cars.
Keeping some of our late and great saloons on track is the Classic Touring Car Racing Club. Founded in 1974 by a group of amateur racing drivers the club now promotes no more than five Championships spanning 40 years of world-class motor racing machines. At Brands Hatch you’ll be able to view some of these motor racing classics close-up and take a trip around the Indy Circuit with one of the Championship drivers.
If a racecar which you can drive on the road is of appeal then how about a Tiger sportscar? Tiger Racing manufacture a range of seven cars some of which are fully road-going including the Tiger R6 which will be at Brands Hatch to demonstrate its superb performance and handling capability. A flashback to racing days past will be on display in the form of the Tiger ERA30, named as it measures a mere 30 inches in height. With its design inspiration taken from the Lotus 23 this is a modern day version of a racing classic and is just as good on the track as the original in the hands of Jim Clark in the 1960’s.
If cars are just not your thing, then how about Pickup Truck Racing? Since launched in 1997 Pickup Truck Racing has won the hearts of many fans with its fast and furious racing. With a 2.5-litre engine embedded under a 900kg body this racing series really is all about driver ability. Sonny Howard and his team will be on hand to give you all the information you need about this exciting sport.

The London Motorsport Show and Race Car Live! have amalgamated to create one of the UK’s biggest motorsport industry events, which will take place at Brands Hatch race circuit on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd November 2008.
The London Motorsport Show incorporating Race Car Live! will provide the motorsport industry with its best opportunity ever to showcase leading products and services to drivers, teams, motor clubs and enthusiasts. New and used race cars from various open and closed wheel formulas and disciplines will be available to test drive on the Indy circuit during the event.
The aim is to create a one-stop-shop for all your racing needs for the season. As well as test driving racing cars, new drivers will be able to take their ARDS test, including medical examinations by MSA recognised doctor Mark Green. Drivers can also get advice from top UK engine and chassis suppliers as well as seminars and presentations conducted by leading industry figures. There will also be a retail area for all your racing needs.
The Brands Hatch paddock area will be transformed into an exhibition site, with race car manufacturers, clubs, teams and race organisers offering potential and existing competitors the opportunity to experience the best formulas in the UK and Europe first-hand from the pit garages.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of circuit owners MotorSport Vision, said: “I am delighted that Brands Hatch has been chosen as the venue for this year’s London Motorsport Show. By amalgamating with Race Car Live, a unique interactive show for the whole UK motorsport industry, the event is set to attract more spectators and competitors than ever before and with Brands Hatch being just 17 miles from the centre of London and 3 miles off the M25, I am sure it will be a great success.”
MSA drivers, officials and marshals will continue to receive free tickets to the show, although there will be a registration process to go on the track.
Other features will include the Future of Motorsport, where visitors can discover educational courses, Greener Motorsport, looking at how motorsport can be more environmentally sympathetic and green issues, and Women in Motorsport, highlighting the growing number of opportunities for females to get involved in what is predominantly a male dominated sport.
Organiser Philip Bunn said: “The move to Brands Hatch was an obvious one after the success of the 2007 London Motorsport Show and its ‘live element’, it became clear that this was the way forward. To showcase motorsport properly, there is no doubt in my mind that you have to make the event a ‘live experience’ for all visitors regardless of their racing ability. What better place could there be than the superb track and facilities at Brands Hatch to experience tried and tested as well as the latest competition cars on the market.”
The organisers have not forgotten their roots either and karting will play a big part featuring its own Karting Pavilion and a dedicated kart track.
Martin Hines of Zip Karts, the UK’s most successful manufacturer, importer, team and retailer said: “Karting is one of the most important sectors of grass roots motorsport and where most of our top drivers learn their race-craft. It is very important that karting is represented as part of this motorsport showcase and I am very much behind the project.”
